Lauren Romero is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at PBBHW. Lauren is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for adults, adolescents, and multi-family through the Linehan Institute. Additionally, Lauren has advanced training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders through Postpartum Support International (PSI). Lauren focuses on maternal mental health for women experiencing anxiety, depression, and OCD in pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. Lauren utilizes a client-centered and direct approach and recognizes the vulnerability and courage that clients possess in order to begin therapy work. She understands the importance in the therapeutic relationship working with teens and adults to model effectiveness, boundaries, and healthy communication. She strives not only to assist clients in processing their circumstances and feelings, but to gain skills to better cope with life struggles and increase resilience.
Lauren received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication and Sociology with a certificate in Women’s Studies from Florida Atlantic University. She continued her graduate program at FAU to earn a M.Ed in Mental Health Counseling.
