Dr. Allie Derer is a postdoctoral resident at Palm Beach Behavioral Health and Wellness. Dr. Derer has extensive experience providing evidence-based therapies to children, adolescents, adults, and families through individual, family, and group modalities. Dr. Derer has specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders in children and adolescents including Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Specific Phobias, and Depressive Disorders. She also provides behavioral parent training for the treatment of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and other behavioral concerns. Furthermore, she has experience providing treatment for diverse adults with various presenting problems. Additionally, Dr. Derer has expertise in conducting psycho-educational evaluations for the assessment of giftedness, specific learning disabilities and differences, social-emotional functioning, ADHD and behavioral difficulties, Individualized Education Plans (IEP), and school accommodations. Dr. Derer provides a warm, caring approach to therapy and creates a safe environment for individuals to work on changing thoughts and behaviors that are interfering with the achievement of specific goals.
Dr. Derer received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Florida State University in Tallahassee. She continued her education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, earning a Master of Science and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
